Engine Check Light on!

You have other issues if that is the case. You either have an air leak or you just need a quick tune because you are actually going lean. That is what happened with my vert. I checked and double checked all of the connections and was still getting lean codes. A tune fixed it right up.

I took my Blackwing, MAF, Air Bridge, and Couplers off to clean. I reassembled everything and took it for a drive. When I got on the gas, my CEL came on. The car ran fine but the CEL concerned me. After I got home, I pulled the codes. The codes were basically LEAN codes and relating to MAF low voltage. I also found that I didn't lined up the "notch" when I re-installed the MAF and coupler.
I started searching on the forum and found a post regarding "over oiling the air filter". The remedy was to remove the MAF and clean using the "MAF Cleaner". I done this then cleared all the codes. I took another drive and rechecked for codes. No codes!
Now my dilemma was that my license tabs were to expire in two weeks and I needed the emission test. I found the "GM Drive Cycle" and performed it twice following the directions carefully.
I then took a chance and gone for my emission test thinking that if I failed the first time, I could do more drive cycles and retest later.
I passed with flying colors! and really relieved.
So if you had removed your MAF or re-oiled your air filter... you'll might want to try what I did. It worked for me.
Good luck!

Actually... the notch is in the air bridge where the MAF fits. Sorry for the confusion.
