Default High Temperature??

Wanted to get a few opinions - today was sunny around 70 degrees.
Oil Temp was 197 cruising around 70mph on the highway. When I get in the city for 10-15 min the temp went up to 207. Can't really hear if my fan is kicking on but one thing I do know is it works. Should I be concerned of the 207 degrees in town?

You are WELL with in temp. 212-220 are not out of range. The C5 and C6 are designed to run hotter that your old cars. Thats why its important to keep the cooling system in tip top shape. Properly pressurized coolant system and proper coolant.

The only way to lower that operating temp is to purchase a lower opening T Stat and change the coolant fan On and Off temps in the PCM

Read your owners manual for proper operating specifications

Actually, your Oil Temp is a bit on the low side. It should typically be about 15-20 degrees higher than your coolant temp.

What were your coolant temps?
