I recently purchased a 2001 Z06 w/vortech V2 supercharger. Anyone have any ideas on what is causing the dipstick to pop up and spew oil? New to the corvette forum. Any advice is appreciated..
Sounds like a lot of ring blow-by to me........... If I recall correctly the 2001's had ring issues from the factory. Does this only happen when you have your foot into it?? ie If you drive it easily do you have the same problem?
It appears to happen only when i get on it. Normal driving no issues..
Not real sure. New to the supercharger realm. I've seen 10 psi on the boost gauge at 5500 RPM. Pardon my ignorance. Learning as fast as possible...Thanks!!

I would consider having a pressure check done on all 8 cylinders.

Has it got blow off valve (A hose coming off the oil fill cap)? Call A&A Superchargers, it sounds like one of theirs,, speak to Joshua. Their number is 888-838-8377. Joshua knows all about the Vortech. I have a V3 SI, bought it from Joshua. He is a good christian man and will help.

That sounds like blow by caused by worn rings to me too. You can hope for a PCV problem but I'd guess based on your description that its the rings. Change your oil and smell it, if it smells like fuel then its likely the rings; I'd also do a leakdown test.

Make it easy on yourself. Pull the supercharger off and go back to stock. Then send the supercharger to me so I can install it on my car. Now the problem is mine and you will be good to go.
This is pretty common on other platforms where worn engine + boost = popped out dipstick.
The good news is your car will run for a long time like this with no major power loss, maybe a bit of oil consumption but thats it.
The old mantra on DSMs was that a good motor will push out a bad dipstick, and a bad motor will push out a good dipstick.
First, make sure the dipstick is sealing well down on the dipstick tube. Your stock dipstick has an O-ring on it, make sure the O-ring is still there and not perished. Replace the dipstick or O-ring and see if your situation improves.
If the car still pops out the dipstick, check for a properly installed and functioning PCV and crankcase evacuation system. Everyone plumbs their supercharged cars differently, so some pics or an MS paint diagram would be a huge help here. Or get a knowledgeable local to take a look at it.
Next thing you can try is putting a little crimp on the top of the dipstick tube with a pair of pliers. Dont go crazy, but a little crush will help keep the dipstick in place.
Last, do a leakdown test. If you see really high leakdown, you need either more breather capacity or new rings.
Do the easy stuff first and let us know how it goes.
