Default transmission advice

So long story short it seems like I have destroyed my mn12 transmission and I am in need of a transmission rebuild or a new transmission here are my current options and keep in mind I want to get the car back together as soon as possible.

1. Pay $2500 to a local shop who currently has my transmission and have them rebuild it with warranty including labor warranty.

2. Look for a used transmission I currently have found one for about 1300 shipped out of a totaled c5z06 with few upgrades.

3. Buy a c6z06 t56 for about 1600 locally.

4. Send my tranny to RPM to be rebuilt to a level 4 for $2500.

5. send my transmission to be rebuild for 1398 to tick performance to be rebuilt to their level 1 which has similar upgrades to a level 4 rpm transmission with a 12 month warranty.

To me the best option so far seems to be going with tick in my mind but I have not heard anything about the shop personally. Keep in mind I will not be keeping this transmission for long as I am looking to upgrade to a tr6060 within the year due to my power goals so I don't need a crazy build just something so i can drive my car for the next year.

That being said I am open to advise and suggestions what do you guys think?

WOW! Tick wants 14 grand for the same rebuild as RPM for $2500? That is insane!

Go used or do a tr6060 now. I personally really want a zr1 spec tr6060. Longer ratios in the lower gears and a 5th that is alot less of an overdrive than other gear stacks. It also depends on how much power you are making. Under 500 rwhp I would probably stick with c6z06 spec tr6060. I am over 700 rwhp and thats why I want the longer gears.

It's considerably beefier, but you have to make alot of other changes to accomodate the newer one. However Rick can build a MN12 using 6060 internals that allows the upgrade without changing all the other stuff.

If the TR6060 is in your future, this would be the time to do it. It will save you a lot of $$$ in the long run.

C6 Z06 T56 has 30 spline shaft and the tailshaft housing is different.

We can build MZ6/MM6 TR6060 with custom overdrives with correct tailshaft housing so it will be a direct bolt in for a C5.

so you are saying it will not bolt directly to the c5 rear end?

I would love to but I definitely dont have the close to 8-10k needed for a proper tr6060 swap with differential and all the modding needed so it has to wait.

The C6 Z06 has 30 splined main shaft and the mating bolt pattern is different (5 fasteners C5 compared to 8 for C6).

PM sent.
