Default Question

Ok. I'm a newbie. It's actually my dad's vette but he doesn't have time to look at a webpage and stuff so he has asked me to do it. First, he wants a loud exhaust that will pass emissions (I live in Sugar Land, Texas). It can't drone in the cab real bad. Any suggestions? He wants it noticable outside and when he romps on it, but doesn't want much inside. Also, what kind of short throw shifter do you recommend? How about bolt ons? Underdrive pulleys, cold air, mass air meter, throttle body? I was thinking a new thermostat with a hypertech. It runs about 220 right now. I have a lot of questions since this is our first Vette/LS1. Please give me some ideas. Thanks alot. By the way, love the board.

These LS1 engines like cold air and a hot motor... so forget the hypertech and thermostat. Get a good airbox and feel free to pick from over 10 exhaust systems available for what your Father wants...

Shifters are not plentifull here... hurst,,, ripper... modified stock... your father will have to try them all out before buying... Might I suggest a GTG of the locals so they can show him the different mods that he is interested in buying.

Don't know how to answer all your questions, but my first major mod is the Borla XR Stingers. Great idle sound, but not over bearing at cruising speeds. Check with Xtreme motorsports for pricing. Good Luck and

Another question, how much would something like my dad's weigh? Also, I was thinking about doing the coolant bypass for it? Is it worth it?

Don't think he wants that. Just simple, minor bolt ons.

Coolant bypass is a waste of money especially, I hear, for an '01/'02.
Tons of exhaust systems from an "OE" Z06 Titanium to "OE" Corsa Titanium and everything else in between...As for shifters, I wimped out and got an A4  :D :jester
Airbox, like the cheap but worth it in my opinion '02 Z06 airbox cover (Ken Fichtner on this Forum) to a Blackwing/Vortex/K&N etcetera.
Welcome to THE Forum!!! :chevy :seeya
