Default Injector's leaking

Has anyone had problems with injectors leaking on the c5's?

I have a 97 with 150K on it. When I was pulling the manifold I noticed a small puddle of fuel sitting on the intake valve on the #7 cylinder, and I am now certain this is part of my hot restart problem. (cranks forever before it will fire, or have to stop and crank again)

Anyone have issues with injectors leaking? I also seem to be getting slightly poorer fuel millage than others have reported.

Finally, where do you recommend I go for new injectors? Is there a good vendor online?

They can leak if you use crappy gas that doesn't keep 'em clean. With that mileage, might as well replace them.

Yes they can leak but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, It’s not a common occurrence.

Pop out the fuel rail assy with the injectors still secured in the fuel rail. Flop the fuel rail Assy upside down and on to the windshield

(Put some cardboard over the windshield)

Turn the key ON and see if any of them are dribbling fuel.

You may see one SPRAY each time you turn on the ignition, but,, NONE of them should leak or dribble fuel.

If you are concerned about leakage or if you think one or more are dirty and have a poor spray pattern or compromised fuel delivery, search You Tube Videos for "home fuel injector cleaning" or "Fuel injector cleaning"

You will be AMAZED at what you can do at home to clean your fuel injectors with a can of carb cleaner, some tygon tubing and a battery.

Depending on what year C5 you have,, LONG/extended starts can be a result of a failed/leakey fuel line check valve (1997-2003) or a bad pump/check valve assembly inside the fuel tank 2004.

If you cycle the ignition switch 3-4 times and the car cranks and starts immediately,,, that’s pretty much what’s wrong. The fuel is draining back into the tank when the car is shut down over night.

At first that is what I tought, but first start of the morning is really easy.

Its the later starts that are hard, leading me to the flooding conclusion, plus the puddle I saw.

I need to pull the fuel rail off and check.
