Hello All, I just purchased an 03 z06 and of course a few days after it starts acting up. If I quickly go to WOT the car will accelerate to about 5k or so then the engine will cut as if I quickly took my foot off the pedal (or like the fuel or spark has been cut) and it won't re-engage until I take my foot off the pedal then re-apply, anyone heard of this? I can take the car to redline and it pulls great if I don't give it WOT.
Thanks, tried that but no codes came up. I am going to change the plugs and wires because I don't know the history on them and they may be original with 62k miles
Check for vacuum leaks. I went through a similar issue and it ended up being caused by an air leak between the PCV and the intake manifold (small hose).
Not getting a traction control indication on the cluster so probably not. I just put in a new set of plug and destroyed one of the old wires taking them off so will have a new set tomorrow and will try the T.C. off in case the plugs and wires weren't the problem.

Keep in mind that normally, a misfire will cause the check engine light to flash. If you're not getting a flashing CEL or code, then it probably is not a misfire (caused by bad wires or spark plugs). It's always good to change the plugs and wires but, I still think you may have an air leak somewhere after the MAF.
Read my previous posts regarding my stalling issue. Not only was my engine sporadically cut-out but actually stalling at highway speeds. It would start right back up as if nothing happened. I had no codes and was ready to give up until I found a loose PCV hose right by the throttle body. It was barely hanging on. I replaced that and voila! My car has never driven better.
By the way, it cost me a new MAF and ignition switch before I found the real culprit. Oh well, it was a learning experience for me.

The previous owner had installed a smooth silicone connector going from the air bridge to the throttle body and got a bit overzealous on the hose clamps and there was a small gap in the air bridge that I think was what was causing the problem. You called it cybermind!

Sorry, that should have read tp sensor. I did not catch the typo.

Our C5s are Throttle By Wire and EXTREMELY critical when it comes down to Throttle Position Sensor operation.
If ANYTHING is wrong with the TAC, Throttle Position Sensor or Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor, it will set a DTC and frequently sets the PCM into (REDUCED POWER MODE).
