USED Blackwing, modify the radiator shroud for cold air. $150 and 2 hrs work. Cheap CAI as true as any other CAI that takes in outside air.

Vararam CAI is the best for overall power, die to ram air effect at higher speeds.

Callaway Honker. Best quality, looks OEM, works great too. Easily serviced for cleaning. Makes excellent power. Easy to install.

Is that cover a piece you can purchase? My car came with a Blackwing and I'd like to get it altered to pull in cool air before I get the car tuned. Thanks.

Team ZR1 has them for about $165. There are other vendors. You can also Google "Blackwing Icebox retailers" for the best price. It's a must to have a "real Blackwing CAI." It's just as "real" as the Honker,Hurricane, or Vortex Rammer.

That looks great. How about a little more information though. What did you make the top cover and the bottom scoop out of?

The top cover is the IceBox. The scoop I found in a parts bin at a swap meet. But a plastic wall folder from Office Depot will also work as a good plan B for the underside scoop. Its a great mod, it pulls harder, and the engine temps are lower as well as slightly better MPG. It's much cheaper than the $500+ for the Honker, same "real/true" result.
