Rebuilding Differential ???
Got the trans and differential apart in my 2001 Z06 right now. I am upgrading to a 30 spline mainshaft. My question is what are my options as far as the differential goes? I see Motive has gear sets that are 30 spline units (V885390L). Will those work with the upgraded mainshaft? Or will I have to have mine re-splined?

This is the gear set I was looking at. Shows to have a spline count of 30 so I was hoping I could just run this instead of having my stock one re-splined.

Looks like the correct stuff.. You do know that who ever replaces the gear/pinion needs to have the correct Kent Moore set up tool to get the pinion and output shaft bearings properly set up.

Seems like wrong info in add. C5's used 27 spline shaft. Have pic of Motive catalog page and no spline count is given. But it excludes c6-z06 use which had the 30 spline. More info here:http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1581542686-post1.html

I have install 2 sets of V885390L and 2 sets of V885410L. All were direct replacements for C5 pinions. 27 spline.
