I had a Service Vehicle Soon message, so I checked the codes. There were no PCM codes, even though I have LT's, no cats, and no rear O2 sensor due to no mounting place. Shouldn't there be codes? I haven't had it tuned. It was stock when I got it.
This is what the OWNERS MANUAL says about the Service VEHICLE SOON
SERVICE VEHICLE SOON: If this message appears
on the DIC, there may be an electrical or another system problem with your vehicle. Have your vehicle checked by your dealer if this message keeps appearing.
Does the check engine light go on when you 1st turn on the ignition? It will normally be on with key on/engine off. Someone may have removed the bulb before you got the car. You may also have a communication problem between the PCM and the ip cluster. Try plugging into the OBDII connector and reading PCM codes that way. If the o2 codes and cat efficiency codes have not been programmed out you should have had a cel within 10 minutes of driving after header install.
I do have a check engine light w/ key on, motor off. I had several body codes, the last one was something in door, reset everything. I haven't tried w/ a code reader. The car only had a Borla exhaust when I got it, still had cats. It seems to run ok.
The only thing I've ever taken a car to the dealership for is warranty or recall.
Well, If it were me,, I would check all my fluid levels, and disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes and reconnect it Clean the terminals and cables and retorque the cables on to 11 ft/lbs.
Once the battery is reconnected, Pull up ALL DTCs and clear each one in each module. Don't worry what shows up, just clear them and then re monitor to see if any come back after a drive. Remember to read the DTC "BEFORE" you turn the key OFF.
