Default P0103C code....

'02 Z06 LS6.

I recently changed the orientation of the radiator which required changing the air intake to the throttle body. (Picture below)

I get the code P0103C now when the car is started. I clear the code, and it returns when restarted. The code is "Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit High Frequency."

I've sprayed the tiny wires in the MAF with contact cleaner, and visually examined them and they appear good.

I checked the connection and see nothing abnormal. I sprayed contact cleaner into the MAF connection and also into the plug. None of the wires appear cracked or frayed.

I don't remember the last I checked the codes on the DIC, but it's been quite a while, and I can't say if I had that code before the modification or not.

Will that code affect the performance of the engine? It's a race car.

Here's a picture showing the new location of the intake and placement of the MAF. We measured the distance of the old placement of the MAF from the throttle body, and tried to keep the same distance when we put it in the intake now.

There has been some discussion about MAF Clock position. Some people say the clock position matters and some say it doesn't.

Give this a try. Make sure that the MAF is installed in the same clock position that it was in the OEM Stock installment.

The only other thing it could be is the MAF needs to be re-calibrated via tuning.

The stock LS1 MAF comes with an air straightener honey come in front of the MAF. If that was removed, the MAF becomes uncalibrated and may throw codes or effect performance. Tuning can correct it but you can also purchase a performance air straightener (the screen openings are a bit larger) and install it.

Thanks, Bill

After reading your post I repositioned the MAF about 30 degrees to get it to what it was in the stock intake. The code came back immediately.

I have to get it tuned anyway since I just installed headers, too, so we'll recalibrate it.

Again, thanks for the input.

Before you get too deep and expend too much cash in a retune, see if you can swap in a different MAF just to eliminate the possibility of that one being bad.

Falcon I have the same issue after a motor swap. What was the solution? I tried a new MAF no joy.
