Hey folks. Hope everyone is doing well..

What had happened was-I was removing my rear fender passenger side. One of the screws that holds the fender/bumper together had wires possibly grounded to it. The wires seemed to be attached to the antennae from what I recall(a couple months ago). Here are a couple pictures of the wires I am speaking of.. My PICKLE is that the braided looking silver wire didn't come off with the bolt and when I went to grab it with my big fat hands it instantly just snapped at the connection... Seemed super brittle. My new fenders have the antennae hole deleted so I will have to figure out how to hide the antennae anyway but I don't know if this is a wire I can just buy a new "eyelet"(?)and crimp to the new end of the wire and attach as it was when I test fit my new fenders or if I can just delete the wire or what. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated. I thought I had a picture of the end of the wire after the end snapped off on my computer but these are the only pics I have. I am stuck at my fire station today if anyone would like to see I could take a pic when I get home in the morning if it would help..

Thanks in advance..

That's the antenna short braided ground strap. You'll need to reconnect it if you'll be mounting an antenna back there.

Yes, either solder the wire back to the old eyelet OR find a new eyelet and crimp and solder the wire to the new eyelet. Make sure you wire bursh/clean the other eyelet and the frame where it attaches to.

How are you going to deal with the antenne????

Patches and Bill, thanks for the responses... I was assuming but you know...

Bill I am not sure what I am going to do about the antennae... I have heard of people hiding them inside the fender before but hadn't searched for how to threads yet. Wait, you weren't foreshadowing a possible idea were you

Either way thanks again for nippin my worry in the bud. Much appreciated you guys!
