The metal Can (Sensor) on the end of your ignition cylinder is the sensor that reads the resistor embedded in your key.
The resistance of that chip MUST match the resistance value that is programmed in the BCM.
If they do not match, the SECURITY light on the IPC will flash and you will NOT be able to start the engine.
If you try, it will lock out the start enable for 3 minutes.
