need some direction from diff/trans experts
got the diff removed. the front of the diff blew off and sheered a shaft right in half. this shaft in question is in the pic . 
is this a pinion shaft or the t56 output shaft because im not familiar with these components. and where do i find a replacment? thanks for the help!!

That's the output shaft from the transmission.
Gotta take the Trans apart to fix. They make a hardened version, as well as a 30 spline piece.
I put the 30 spline in my Trans when I had it built. The pinion needs to be machined to accept the 30 spline shaft. About $250 if I remember correctly.

Good question. I just had the shop that built my Trans source the parts.
There are several vendors on here that build transmissions. Perhaps they'll chime in here.
