A/C repair question

Looks like a i have a leaking schrader valve on the low side, the system is totally void of any pressure at the moment.

If i replace the low side valve, is there anything else i need to do/replace before i put a vacuum on it and recharge the system?

I just had Joe at Powertech replace a leaking valve on mine and completely vacuum the system down and the recharge it. Been working fine since.

I think that was the last thing that needed fixed

we replaced everything else

Is there anything Joe can't do?

My car was just there last week getting a Monster stg3 clutch done plus other things that needed fixin... Joe is good people

bump

wondering if i need/should replace the accumulator, since i will have the schrader valve out maybe all of 2-3 minutes at the most which will be exposed to outside air..??

I dunno...if he can't he knows someone who can. he has a great AC machine he bought last year.

probably a good idea to change the drier, otherwise/also pull an extra long deep vacuum, the longer the better

Change both valves dont bother evacuating unless you blos air into the system

Had a leaky one a couple years ago. Got new ones for about $1 apiece at AC supply. You are not completely opening up the system to pull 2 valves out. If you have a vacuum pump and want to kill an hour evacuating go for it but if you simply unscrew the valve stems and pop in new ones it is not necessary. Need a long valve stem tool you can find at a parts store or AC supply to get the cores out.
