Default Overheating help

2003 z06 100k miles cold air intake everything else stock. I bought this from an insurance sale and I have no info on past use. I bought this to make a track car out of it. Car runs fine no issues no oil in the water and its not losing any water. If you run it up the rpm range it starts to get hot 230-240 outside temp 77. Replaced the water pump thermostat and the radiator with a larger dewitts. I also followed the steps to remove air from the system. The larger radiator was no improvement. Air dam is in place fans work and run on high. The only way the temp will come down is if you run the heater. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What does it do if you just start the car and let it idle, and come up to temp slowly, such as parked in the garage?

Will it overheat then, or just when you are out driving it hard?

No ideas really, but thought this would "bump" the thread and get others to think of ideas.

Hi, I know that you said no water in oil but it could be leaking head gasket and letting in combustion to the cooling system. Hope not as these engines don't have a high head gasket failure but just saying it as a possibility.
