The good ol zip tie mod. Pretty old. Filters wont get that dirty because no real cold air gets in there. You would need to open the rad shroud for that. That dyno dont really matter since the car will be sucking in hot air as you drive around.

Dyno is done with the hood open and a fan under a shaded garage.
Close the hood and sit in traffic and you are worse off than when you started with the shield.
look into flip-tie if you want a free intake. I had it and it was great. Moved on to Vararam but not much difference in performance daily driving unless you drag race 24/7
It should work. But it looks like you would be cleaning/replacing filters weekly. Why not just put on a CAI an do it right.
I don't see how opening up the airbox is going to make the filter get dirty that much more. The air moves through that area at any speed other than a crawl, so unless you go with a vararam, which forces the filter to use only outside the engine compartment air, the only differences are in filter flow, not engine heat. K&N filters are all cleanable; no need to replace. They make one that attaches directly to the MAF, basically a Blackwing, without the expense.
