Vibration through shifter
Hey all,
Just finished putting a new slave cyl/throwout and pilot bearing in my 99 FRC M6. Got it all back together and upon driving I notice a vibration through the shifter now that wasn't there before. Starts around 45mph and gets really noticable around 60mph. Can really feel it through the shifter but not as noticable through the rest of the car. Clutch in or out doesn't change it and neutral or in gear doesn't change it, just the speeds. Measured and the rear end seems to be just a hair over to the left, would that cause this? What can I check to start getting to the bottom of this, Thanks.

First make sure the shifter was put back in correctly, especially where the rod connects. Seems like there is very little room to be off there. Also, those bushings do wear out/cut. Good luck with it.

Yes,, your shift box is mounted with rubber isolation on the bottom, and under the two fasteners that attach it to the torque tube. If they are not proper, you will feel a LITTLE more noise and harshness thru the shifter.
With that said,,,,,, the ZO6 Shifters are ALL solid mounted and they dont feel that bad or make that much interior noise.
My guess is that you have a drive train minor off balance issue.
OR,, if you removed the fly wheel, you reinstalled it in the wrong clock position
