Default Granatelli Max-Flow MAF?

Any body try one of these? Noticed they offer different ones with cold air tuning, worth the money? :reddevil

Probably not worth it with your mods, maybe if you had heads, cam, supercharger, etc. IMHO  You might get 3-5 hp if that, do a search, I think that some people have actually lost HP. :seeya

I did search, seems it works for some not for others. The reason I am checking, My dyno run shows I'm running lean at 5000RPM was kind of hoping this would richen it up.

For what its worth a couple of months ago I installed a Granatelli MAF on my 2002 coupe (with Blackwing) and recently re-replaced it with the stock MAF. With the Granatelli installed I was experiencing a stall condition under full acceleration (~ 4500 RPM, not rev limiter induced). I re-installed the stock MAF and the stall condition ceased immediately. I also didn’t really notice that much difference, if any, between the Stock and Granatelli MAF. Recently I removed the air screen on my stock MAF and noticed a bigger SOTP feel by this simple no cost mod than the $300 Granatelli MAF mod. Go figure. Now I have a $300 MAF sitting in a box in my garage!

 oh well.

Thats pretty interesting, I may have to try removing screens from the MAF! But I know programmer Ed Wright is against this. I just talked to my buddy who was with me and he said when we did the dyno run there was a puff of black smoke at 5000 RPM, when the dip in the graph happens, said I'm probably running rich. Maybe this would help. :reddevil

Why not do it right and have someone custom tune it?

I checked, Ed is not even taking anymore appointments for dyno tuning. Don't know of any other tuners around here. If you do give me a shout .

Hey Bucksnort, I was thinking about the Granatelli. Thanks for the heads up. Anything I need to know about removing the factory screen? That's the air meter (thing) inside the housing - right ? How does it come out ? Will it F up the way the car runs ? I'm just kind of weary about screwing with it. Do/did you run any 1/4 mile times and notice any difference ? I am trying to do that one last mod that will get my butt under a 13. My car is capable of probably about a 12.7, I just can't launch it worth a crap ! Let me know if you can. Thanks.

Nope, wish I did, we are kinda in a black hole for tuners, especially high tech, fuel injection types. Good luck, and sweet car :D

Robert, you took out your screens, doesn't this have a leaning effect on the motor? Is it only temporary until the computer relearns?
