I know about the "dimming" effect on this readout and will get around to fixing it when it gets cooler out but last nite I noticed the lights behind the buttons were out? Only "Off", "Auto", "Def" were lit. When you press the button the little orange light comes on but the words are not lighted. When I have this apart what about these lights? Anybody???

The lights are small incandescent bulbs. They are soldered into the circuit board. You can replace them when you do the display fix. Many people use the Radio Shack 272-1092 bulbs which fit and produce an equivalent color. Very cheap fix. When doing the work in the unit make sure you use a fine tip soldering iron. When applying new solder I would recommend putting a little solder on the soldering iron tip and then applying it to the connections. If you have not done much soldering almost any TV radio repair shop can do it.
