Default Valve spring ?

I understand that the valve springs, on the C5 Zs, have a problem breaking. Will the springs off a 2008 LS7 ZO6, work on the C5 ZO6s? If so is there anything that, needs to be changed to make them work?

There is a post about what vins and years were affected by this, it may be in a sticky. I believe the years were 2002- early 2003.

Sorry but don't know anything about the ls7 springs.

I was under the impression that the LS7 valve springs have much different installed heights and free height. You should get the spring specifics to figure out whether they will work.

since a full set of new ls6 springs is $65 why even chance it?

the ls2/3 spring is the compatible one

which is what the new ls6 springs are

Why not just get a good set of aftermarket springs?

why waste more money if you're not running more cam that require it?

failures of the new spring type are virtually non existent

I just figure its one of those things where it won't cost a ton more to not have to worry about it again. Only thing I hate is my car sounds like a pissed off sewing machine.

that's really not true though. pac springs have broken, comp springs have broken. there is no perfect solution

if you have more cam and need more spring then you use more pressure. if you don't not only is it a waste of money it also robs hp and puts more stress on the lifters if you up the spring pressure

some guys just get it in their head stock sucks and want to mod everything just to say it's "better"

the failure rate of the new gm springs is virtually non existent and they are used in all ls2 and ls3 cars. think about how many cars that is
