help

uh, my automatic 04 C5 is having transmission problems. I don't usually hit the gas hard at all, but i did today and it would not go into 3rd gear. it would go to 3000 rpms exactly and no higher. what could be the problem..?

If it won't go over 3000 rpm you probably have other problems. A trans problem should not limit your rpm. Pull the codes using the dic and post. This link describes how. http://www.stengel.net/diccodes.htm

Check engine light? Were the tires spinning? What happened at 3000 rpm? Did the engine cut off, did it seem like there was a heavy load, any smells, messages on the dash?
