I've got a 97 coupe that I recently purchased and the turn signals change from blinking very fast to slower than normal and now sometimes they just don't work and I have to press the hazard light button and turn it back off to make them work again! Any suggestions on what it could be or what to do?
If I recall, I had mine done when I just got the car, went bad like 2 weeks after...think it was $250 installed at the dealer, but plenty of writeups on here to DIY...
The turn signal flasher is in the Hazard switch. It also flashes for the hazards. Here is the wiring for it. You can get a new Hazard switch for about $25 and install it yourself. Your other option is to get one of the "hyperflash" units that are easier to install than replacing the Hazard switch. I also included my link on relocating the Hazard switch so it only takes about 30 seconds to replace in the future. Dash still looks stock. If you want to discuss the best way to remove the Hazard switch you can PM me with your phone number. It is not that difficult.
I don't really want to relocate it right now but I'll definitely be fixing this one myself! I don't plan on spending $250 when I can spend $25. Thanks for all the quick replies!
Did the by pass on mine two years ago. No problems. Easy step by step with pictures. Took all of about 1/2 hour to complete and a $5.00 flasher.. Great advise from this forum..
