Any tips on removing the front spring?
Project with a buddy. Any tips on removing the front spring. Will it come off with a spring compression tool and the removal of the 4 retaining bolts? TIA.

I didn't use a spring compressor. Jack your car up and place it on stands in the correct locations. After removing the front wheels put your jack underneath the lower control arm and jack to put a load on the spring and compress the shock. Then remove the 4 bolts that hold the upper control arm in place. Lower the jack slowly and you will relieve all the tention on the spring so that you can unbolt it and remove it. You have to do this for each side first. Good luck. Disclaimer...I assume no responsibility for injury to you or your car..this is just the way I have performed the front spring removal..and am sharing the information. The GM service manual instructions require a spring compressor for front spring removal. :cool: :cheers:
