I have been led to believe that the IPC High Voltage power supply is also the sole source power supply for the HUD. Can anyone confirm or clarify the design? Thanks
That HV Supply is for the Black Light Florcent Tubes on each side of the IPC.
When I get home, I will send you the pinouts for the HUD to IPC. If I remember correctly, they are only 5v, 12v Digital Signals, Serial Data and ground.
Thanks Bill. I have looked at my FSM again specifically for this. It would appear the IPC provides power from the ignition circuit (which is 12V). It also appears that after the illumination in the HUD the circuit goes to the dash "slider" which grounds the circuit at what ever light level is desired. There are no pin outs or connector views, just the general description of 8 wires. With that, I am very sure like you that the IPC HV supply does not provide power to the HUD.
If you have the pin out for the HUD it would be nice to have, but I can figure it out since it should be the only one with any significant voltage. It will be 12V or something a lot higher. When I do the spare IPC power up some time soon I will post the results here.
I saw a post on the internet recently that said it used the IPC HV supply output also for the HUD which did surprise me. Can't seem to find it again.
