Default recommendations on injectors needed

Hello,

I have done the following mods and would like to know if I should be looking at bigger injectors on my 1999 base model.

Mods done:85MM MAF, Honker CAI, LS2 Throttle Body, 92MM Fast intake, LG Street Long Tube Headers, Hi FLo Cats, TI cat back, 4.10 gear

Mods to be done: ported polished 243 heads, cam in the 224/224 range less than .600 lift, 25% under pulley.

Should I be looking at 38# injectors...if they won't help I could use the money towards a LS7 cluth kit.

Not looking to take the car to the track...in fact I am fairly soft on the car.

Thanks for your comments

Jeff

I had the same mods, my stock 02 ls1s were fine. When you tune you will find out what the duty cycle is and know.

He'll I run stock ls3 injectors on my 416

I agree. Examine the duty cycle under full load high RPM and if your constantly over 88% DS, bigger injectors would help.

NOTE. You must TUNE IN the new injectors or you will be running really rich.

You cant just pop them in and be good to go.

dont just up and buy them. Ask what the duty cycle is while tuning. Some get away with the stock injectors being sufficient. My 99 was different though. With just a Fast92, 85mm MAF, and K&N intake, as well as an axle-back and x-pipe I was right on 90% after my first tune. Not even long tubes! Needless to say, I had to do injectors along with any next engine mod. I went with the Fast 36lbs for my H/C swap, and that gave me plenty of room to do LT's after and now planning nitrous.

Thanks everyone. I will stick with what I have...then see what I need after I put in the heads and cam.
