Default Major Electrical Issues... please help

So I have had some strange issues with my car and they just got really bad. I was pulling out of a drive way and I got an ABS/TCS/Reduced Power/Security Light Flashing error and my Fuel Pressure Gauge went to 0 and I got a Low Fuel level error. I pulled the key and restarted it and it drove home fine except I noticed the Fuel Pressure Gauge was at 0PSI and my Oil Pressure Gauge was now at 130PSI. The next day I get in my car drive down the street and it all happens again except this time my Fuel Pressure Gauge is stuck at 62PSI. The dome light sound is on all the time key in or out until I close the door and sometimes I have to pop the hood then shut the hood for it to go off. I went through and cleaned all my contact and they were spotless. The only electrical work I have done is I have RadioFlyer V3's installed by A&A corvette and thats when the weird Dome Light sound started. I am throwing tons of codes. Please give me some advise.

Seems like you have a serial bus communication issue (U codes) we need to resolve. I have no idea what the mod was you did but we can see if the install might be involved. Not at home now but the first step should probably be to remove the door and seat modules from the bus and see how that affects the system. They are typical culprits. Can give you that info when I get home. It is not hard to do. In the interim I am sure some others can offer their insight.

Please clarify and explain what you mean by dome light sound.

The sound the car makes when your key is in the ignition and your door is open. That bonging sound. I just went to my car opened my door no key in and closed it and it stayed on. It took a few opens of the door and hood to finally get it to stop and what finally stopped it was closing the door and closing the hood. I have those flush mounted Radioflyer headlights and something tells me during the ninstall something went wrong.

I talked to the guys from A&A and they were super helpful. End result I am going to take the car to Quality Motorsports on Saturday and hope for the best. Sounds like its just a stupid electrical gremlin and nothing major.

Many of those sympoms are what I had with two different ignition switches. First one in 2011, second one in 2013.

A good clue is an OK restart after the problem presents.

Hard to diagnose, but in the event of a crank, no start, check fuse no.16 under hood for power while leaving key on.

Also could be a poorly torqued battery side terminal. Check for 10 foot pounds (120- 180 inch pounds). You have to pull pretty hard on a six inch long wrench to achieve this so use a torque wrench.

The door connector connections may be CLEAN AS A WHISTLE,,,, BUT,,,,, are the FEMALE PINS damaged. ( i.e. spread apart and making poor connections with the male pin) Thats what causes the issues.

How about the Seat Connector Plug?? Is it damaged/ broken wires, wet /damp???? It takes a beating when the seat moves if it isn’t properly secured under the seat on the frame.

Is the BCM wet / damp?? AC Condensation can and does DRIP on the big silver box and it HATES water. Feel under the carpets and see if you have any dampness.

All the things listed above can and will cause your issues! Those EXACT ISSUES!

Unless the repair place that you have in mind is experienced with the serial data buss issues, I would HATE to have to pay the labor time finding the issue.

Spend the time it takes to properly check out the above listed issues. If you DISCONNECT the STAR Connector top that has FOUR WIRES and the issue goes away, you for sure have a serial data issues with one or more of the following modules: LDCM, RDCM or Seat Control Module.

They are the best in Dallas from what I hear. I did have a strange issue this morning. When I slammed my door super hard my dome light sound went away. Drove the car to work and she felt amazing, pulled into my space at work... Reduced Power. Couldn't get the dome light sound to go away even after closing the doors so I got back in my car turned the key to on, turned it off and got out my passenger door. Ill check those pins again.

Listen to Bill, I too think you could find the issue by unplugging the 4 wire Star serial bus connector. It is to the left of the BCM. There are 2 of these Star connectors there so unplug the one with only 4 wires. Here is a picture of what it looks like.

After unplugging it, clear your codes and see if you have eliminated all the U communication issues.

So basically unplug it and just leave it unplugged and drive? Or unplug, verify its clean and pins are good, clear codes, and drive.

Pretty easy to get to this thing?

Thanks guys!

Mattie, it's very easy to get to as it's just to the left of the BCM. Unplug it then start the car and see if your problem persists.

Have you ever rebuilt or replaced your ignition switch?

I pulled the clip it's the top clip if I did it right and cleared the codes. We'll see what happens when I drive home.

Also I had my multifunction switch replaced by A&A a few months ago.

I knew I wasn't crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Open the kick panel on your passenger side and next to the BCM pull the top star connector and let me know if that fixes your problem. So far I have had no problems driving, even though my left door doesn't work. The dome light sound is back to normal, only when the door is open.

What does that star connector actually do? Pulling it seems to have done the trick but if this other poster is having the same issues with his Radioflyers I think George may want to know so he can append his instructions or tell us where we might have gone wrong.

I would be happy to know what causes this error. From what I'm hearing the connector in question is not an area that needs to be accessed for installation of the headlights which is strange that such an issue would come up following installation.

From the way it was explained to me, pulling the star bus isolates the door control modules and the seat control module. I would suggest you take another look at the blue connectors in the doors and make sure the pins inside are making good contact. You'll also want to inspect the connectors and wiring underneath the driver's seat. You haven't fixed the problem, but you have isolated it to one or more of three places.

George I can tell you for a fact as soon as the lights went in the dome light sound started. Could there be a grounding issue with the lights that causes something to go crazy or is this a huge coincidence? I don't doubt it these C5's have strange electrical gremlins.

Don't feed them after midnights, never bathe them, and never drive it in the sunlight
