Hopefully you know you have to remove the rear suspension and entire driveline to get to it. There are other things you want to inspect (or replace) once you are in there. This is a major effort, make the most of it.

Make sure it's not the cam sensor first which could be fixed without pulling the drivetrain. With the drivetrain out make sure it's not the rear cover which can only be fixed with it out.

Could you refresh my memory. where is the cam sensor?
Being an auto, I would put in a new pilot bearing and put in new torque tube couplings. There is also a bearing and seal (may be an o-ring) at the engine end of the drive shaft.
I have not been into one but this is from my parts manual.
