Default High Mileage Maintenance

Just got my first Z06 2003 (169k Miles), I just ordered, new plugs, wires, coolant hoses, will getting clutch, flywheel, and all fluids done done (trans, rear). Anything else I need to do or replace. Will do shocks. Past owner just did oil changes and drove it.

Thanks

starter....if you have the old style with the short/long bolt combo, clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder since you will have it apart.

Robert

Heres my list:

Remote bleeder hose for the clutch slave
Torque Tube couplers
Check engine mounts for being broken.
Power Steering fluid change

New DEXCOOL Coolant
Fuel Filter
Brake Fluid Flush
Clean the AC Condenser and radiator fins with garden hose (back flush the sane /dirt out) and clean the one inch space between the two.

Clean MAF and Throttle Body throttle blade.
Check the PCV valve rubber coupler for rot and damage.

yea, the PCV hose is probably rotten/broken behind the intake. I just pulled my torque tube apart - **** that massive snap ring - and my couplers were dooooone.

ZO6 has a very simple PCV system valve and hose:
The rubber boot that connects the PCV to the manifold is where they normaly rot.

Here is a NON ZO6 PCV system. Completely different and the Y section behind the intake can and do split and leak air into the intake manifold.

you can usually get better prices from gm parts direct or scoggin dickey

not sure why people like gm parts house on here

do research on your clutch before you buy one. if you want to stay stock-ish the ls7 isn't much more money and it's a stronger clutch

scoggin dickey has a package with an aluminum ram flywheel for mid 5's. keeps the total package weight the same as the ls6 and shifts the weight a bit. flywheel is a bit lighter and the plate is a bit heavier

the iron wheel ls7 kit is pretty heavy, if you know how to heel/toe well it would probably bother you
