Default 98 vert. electrical

hi guys thanks for the add just bought my first vette a few months ago and getting the kinks worked out right now i need to replace my alternator and i was wondering what the stock output alternator is and if you guys suggest getting a higher output for any reason on these cars before i go and buy the new one it is all stock and is a 1998 i was wondering what your guys thoughts were on switching from a spring loaded belt to a solid mount one i switched to a solid mount about a month ago and ive heard alot of people say these can start take bearings out of the components that are driven buy the belt system any body have any thoughts on this ? i bought mine from tick performance i was also wondering if there is such a thing as a diagram that shows where all the ground points are on my car if so can someone tell me where to get one of these one more thing before i go ive been looking for some tinted tail light covers but i would like to get the type that use a rubber o-ring behind them to seat them into place instead of the adhesive tape or using existing screws to mount them havent been able to find these anywhere thanks again guys for welcoming me and for any help you can offer

Your best bet is to get a set of factory Service Manuals for your car. Cant beat that!! Cant properly repair without them!

You will NOT be able to repair/service your new C5 "PROPERLY" without the service manuals. FACT!

Pay the price and do it right!! I have a set for 98, 02 and 04 C5s.. Its an addiction!!

I got mine from www.gmpartshouse.com Good price, good people!!

Bill is right about the manuals. I bought a 98 vert this spring as well and mine came with a set of manuals. I would be lost without them.

Mine was throwing random codes that I could clear and they would not reoccur. I cleaned up the grounds in the engine compartment and they went away.

Thanks for your post, Bill. We purchased a low mileage '98 Coupe about a year ago and I'm considering getting the manuals, so very much appreciated your link! Manuals are a very worthwhile investment..........I had a '66 for over 43 years and about wore my manuals out. They very definitely paid for themselves!!

Default Get manuals on fleebay

Bought my manuals at list price from Helm. NEVER AGAIN.
Fleabay generally has good used manuals at a fraction of the cost of the Brand New ones. Take a look before dumping a bundle of cash.

Many thanks for the tip. I don't need the manuals to be new..........just want the information so I can educate myself when a problem surfaces and perhaps make my own repairs without having to always hire a shop.
