The cruise control function comes out of the TAC module. It doesn't care what gear you are in so, the fifth gear selection its self should have nothing to do with it.
Try this (Yes I know that you said the switches are fine) Pull up on the Brake peddle with your foot and try the fifth gear test. Then do the same for the clutch.
Next. Put it in fourth and engage cruise. While in cruise, press the accelerator (while still in cruise) and accelerate and then let off and see if it drops out.
When it drops out in fifth, without changing anything immediately read the PCM DTCs
Tried raising both brake and clutch with no change also with traction control on and off. I have one button for TC, no active handling I think but coilovers are installed, think that makes a difference?
With car in 4th with cruise control on if I accelerate then let off will resume the set MPH. No PCM codes after reset after this trial of the cruise control. I noticed the clutch switch does not rachet out like the brake switches, do you have to screw that one out?
There is no adjustment on the clutch switch, it is attached to a bracket that just bolts on. Remember it is the one at the top of the pedal and the start interlock switch is at the bottom.
