just to let you guys know, ive been a member of this forum for 8 years, notice it says senior member.ive seen some posts about tech2s from junior members that are obviously translated, like they are typing broken English.ive found that for the most part these posts are spam.the only reason why I am saying this is,they are praising the Chinese tech2s saying they can program pcms with them and do everything a dealer can do.this is not true they are posting links to their websites trying to sell these things.i have bought a knockoff tech2 knowing full well it is a knockoff and I wont be able to do everything the dealer can with theirs.i basically took a shot at it not knowing if it would work or not.it was a bit of a hassle to get it but I finally did, like I posted earlier.i only tried it once so far and it worked as well as the ones I have used working for gm dealers most of my career.i am currently a Nissan master tech and don't have access to a tech2 for diagnostics on my personal GM cars, this is the only reason I purchased this thing.i don't mean to ramble but I just want everyone to know that I am a legitimate member of this forum and in the case someone buys one of these and has a problem with it,they don't think I am one of these spammers.this is why I only stated that I bought one and will not try to encourage anyone to buy it.

Thanks for your comments. I'm probably gonna get one. Just to be sure, did you buy it from the site I posted previously or another? I just want to make sure I order the exact same one. Thanks.

sp23-c is 349.00
I don't think there is a difference, they both come with the same stuff.shipping to nj was 130.total was 462.00
I just looked again and the shipping went up to 137.00

This one is $350 with free DHL shipping to the US.

It was being discussed here.

Has anybody bought this one? I'm not sure if it is the same unit as the one from careucar, but even that one comes as sp23-b and sp23-c with no clear differences...

I have a few more questions before I pull the trigger on one of these. I will be ordering one by the end of the week.

Based on your experience with it so far, do you think that it will perform a Crank Position Sensor relearn without problems?

Since the Tech2 completely takes over engine function during this procedure, I'm worried it might screw up midway and cause damage. What are your thoughts?

Also, I see fromt the online catalog that the difference between the SP-23B and SP-23C is the addition of a 32 mb card preloaded with the software. Did you get this card?

Thanks.

I'm looking forward to it!

Which one did you finally buy?
  • careucar
    1. SP23-B $332.00, $150.70 shipping
    2. SP23-C $349.00, $150.70 shipping
    3. SP23-D $339.00, $150.70 shipping
    4. SP23-B3 $329.00, $64.90 shipping
  • aliexpress $350.00, free DHL shipping

It's kind of confusing... they all seem the same... I'm not sure if there is a difference, although the SP23-B3 seems that doesn't include the plastic storage case, but it is the only one that explicitly says that includes the TIS2000.

In aliexpress there are other offerings in the $290 neighborhood (and with free DHL shipping) without the plastic storage case, but I don't know how complete is the package in each case.

Did yours include the TIS2000?

I ordered the SP-23C which is the complete package with the 32 MB card.

Here is where I get a little confused. On their website it says at the bottom that you also need to order Item #SO01 http://www.careucar.com/wholesale/ti...-software.html if you want to program with the tech 2. But it says the unit comes with the TIS2000 cd. So does that mean the software only does some things with the cd but not all unless you buy that option? Again getting the cd but also the USB key needed to unlock the programming functions.

Interested in one of these as well.

OK. Just read the description on the one you bought (SP23-C). Does not say that in the description on that model. Would like to know when you get it if it does come with the USB key. So many different models. Kind of confusing.

3 Vettes : I bought a Tech2 clone on Ebay, and need some help to reprogram my replaced BCM to sync the serial number of the SDM (airbag module). I get the SDM DTC B1001, that the SDM serial number does not match what is stored in the BCM. I am in NJ. Perhaps you can help me out, and you could check-out my clone Tech2. If you can help me, I might consider selling you this Tech2 for a discount, as I only bought it to solve my airbag DTC problem.

Well, I placed the order on October 6th and it still hasn't shipped according to their website. I just contacted them asking why it hasn't shipped yet. I guess the 3 -5 day ship time is out the window! They did request a phone number three days ago and I sent it to them then. I sent it again today. I think I ran into the same situation as 3 Vettes. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE: They are quick to respond. I just got an email back from a Nancy Lin. They shipped my item two days ago but did not have a chance to update the status. She even informed me that she declared a $69.00 value to help keep my customs fees low. Now that is service! She said she would be sending me a tracking number today.
