I have the dreaded traction control light on now and, like others, see that restarting the car clears this... but my cruise control has started working intermittently and can't help but think this issue has something to do with the traction control. Can anyone can shine any light on this?
Run the test above. Codes p0567,p0568 and p0571 are the three cruise codes that can set. I found nothing to verify a traction control problem would prevent cruise operation.
Traction control shouldn't affect cruise, like someone said above. I had a problem last winter with my Silverado's cruise, although I have no idea if the Corvette works the same way. It ended up being a faulty brake switch, which was a pretty common problem with SIlverados. It was worse during cold weather. To help diagnose, I lightly tapped my brakes a few times and tried setting the cruise right away when it's not working. Most of the time, I was able to get the cruise set, which confirmed the sensor as the problem. It was a $20 and 20 minute fix. Can anyone confirm if the Corvette brake position sensor works the same way?
The brake switch and or the clutch position switch (if you have a MN trans) both will cause CC to disengage if its set improperly or if it is defective..
YES,,, If traction control goes active, it will terminate CC operation, just like you hit the brakes.
Yep, this happened to me last week on my 02 Coupe (56K miles)...it was my lower brake switch that needed adjustment. Once all the "clicking" stopped (2 total click sounds) during the switch adjustment, went for a test drive and problem is solved! Cruise stays engaged and no AH/TC messages in the DIC. By the way, I had no codes in the DIC after this issue started.
If anybody needs specific instruction on how to do this adjustment, just PM me.
