Recently my CD changer had an error and when I opened the door the cartridge was already ejecting. Once I put it back in it played fine. I left it on and shut off car. Then next time I started the car it started playing disc 1 track 1. If I leave it on when I shut off car, it will start disc 1 or have error and not work. Eject cartridge and it will play again but always start disc 1 on restart. I have tried different cartridge, pushing reset, unplugging the harness at changer. Now I am starting to get a little frustrated with it. Has anyone ever seen this symptom before? Searched all kinds of phrases and couldnt find anyone having this problem. Have not pulled codes yet but will do that in a couple hours.
Thanks!
Chris

If you push the 5 button on the radio, will it advance to the next disc? If so, will it still start on disc 1 after that?

Yep! I was on disk 4 track 3 when I parked Saturday. Started up Sunday and it was back on disk 1 track 1. Not sure what happened or changed but dont like it.

No codes when I pulled them. Turned on radio and had left the changer on when I shut down yesterday. As soon as it came on it showed error and switched to radio.

I'll have to experiment but noticed the memory was working again. Then I realize that I removed the ELM327 bluetooth from the OBD2 port so I could use it to run codes on a BMW. I havent put it back in to Vette yet so I'll play with it when I have some time. It has been in the Vette for almost 2 months with no issues. I'll report back once I can duplicate it.

No other symptoms. DIC stays on last thing I was displaying as does the radio. It only affected the CD changer. Battery is showing 12.7 V. I also wondered about that too.
Thanks!

The only way for something to loose MEMORY is for it to loose power or be defective.
The Radio Head powers the CD Changer. Read the RADIO FUSE with a DC Volt meter and see if it gets very low or loose power when you turn on the ignition on..
There are test points on top of the fuse. Measure the test points to chassis ground. See if the voltage is low or no voltage.
