I think mine was mostly from not using enough sealant on the head bolts after a head swap. Could have been PCV related too. I've since changed blocks and went to the later LS6 PCV system and have no oil consumption. Haven't checked the intake to verify but I'm assuming it's dry now.

Unless you damaged the engine block head bolt hole bosses inside the block when you reassembled the engine,,, There is NO way Crank Case oil can contact any other part of the engine .. ALL OF THE BLOCK bolt holes are BLIND HOLES..
However,,,,,,,,,,,,,, If you have ported heads,, the valve train bolts do enter the intake manifold track and can SUCK engine oil from the valve cover area into the intake tract.
