Default Mantic 9000 Twin Disc Clutch

Has anyone had any experience with this clutch.
I have 450 RWHP and my LS6 clutch is on the way out.
I want a clutch that feels & drives like stock and is a lighter weight, if possible.
The car is an 04 with 57000.00 miles on it and is street driven only. The LS6 clutch only has 18000 miles on it but it is wearing out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Talk to Doug at ECS - he sold me the one I just installed but haven't had a chance to drive with yet. Build quality is excellent and installation is straightforward with no shimming required. This clutch is rated at 1000 hp. Others running this clutch with the stock master claim pedal effort is very close to stock.

Here are a few pics of my install.

Patches, hows the clutch holding up? Did the mantic.9000 kit come with a flywheel?

Wow, worth the price if only for the carrying case. If I ever do it over, I will go with a twin disc as well.

450 rwhp?

What's your driving like?

For the money, I'd just put an LS6 clutch in there. LS6 clutches will do fine at 450 rwhp. Some use cases see a lot more wear - launches, drag racing, etc - but driving around the street, even an LS1 clutch should do fine for like 100k miles if you ease onto the power. My LS1 clutch lasted nearly 100k, with ~25 of that supercharged - and it's still fine, just other stuff failed.

Want a lighter setup? Get an aluminum flywheel. Or get something steel that's a few pounds lighter. Cheaper, easier.

But if you got cash to spend, I'm sure any of the popular twin-disc setups will be great. I'm putting in a Monster LT1S as we speak.

I love mine. I have 3500 miles on mine. Pedal pressure a little harder than the LS7 clutch I removed. I have 478 at the wheels. still trying to find a use for the case?

Thanks. What flywheel did it come.with? I was thinking of going aluminum with mantic 9000 twin organic. Hoping itll wake up the car a bit. Also, Tick Performance sells a Tilton master cylinder. Apparently its the ticket. As for the slave(throwout bearing), mantic and most aftermarket brands supply a GM salve(throwout bearing). Although pricy, McLeod makes one but not sure if its worth the extra money.

Hopefully someone with more hands on experience will chime in.

Mantic does not offer an aluminum flywheel, steel only however the assembly only weighs 37.6 lbs total. So it's a fair amount lighter than stock.

I would also recommend the cerametallic over organic.

Id like to know why. As a mostly street driven z with big ms4 cam. I go to the track a few times a year.

"I go to the track a few times a year"

Plus there is no downside, the cerametallic drives like a stock clutch, just slightly firmer. I have sold one organic clutch out of all the clutches we have sold.

I have zero chatter and drivetrain noise, even have solid mounts all around. Love the clutch, beat the hell out of it with 700+ rwhp and it never gives me issues.

I went with the McLeod street twin disc setup with a fidanza flywheel as it's 3lbs lighter than the McLeod. Stock slave with adjustable tick master. Takes all the pounding on the autocross I can dish out with sticky 315 Rivals. 31lbs total.
