It's a $25,000-$50,000 upgrade. It's called a used C6.
All kidding aside, I have never heard of anyone doing this and it would be more involved than you might think.

should be an easy electrical job if you think about it
get a wiring diagram or find the right wire that leads to the starter, cut it and splice your wire going to and from new starter button.
you push the button, it completes the circuit and starts your car.
Of course i am sure there is something more complex about it if no one else has done it before.

If you have the key on, a push button should be able to preform the starting sequence.........yes, no ?

On a c6 a6 if you push the button with the brake depressed the engine will start. If you push it with the engine running the engine will shut off. If the engine is off and the brake is not depressed and you push the button the ignition will turn on. Unless someone is making a conversion kit it will take some creativity to make the c5 a push button like the c6.

Well yea, just like a C6 would be difficult, but for the cool factor of pressing a button vs turning a key would be easy
