Paging C5 Tech - Help?
ok, I know what some of these do but I have no idea why theyre tripping codes. what do the codes mean exactly, :confused: and how do I go about fixing it so I can get the check engine light off? :cuss :smash: help!
I'm sure it'll probably include a trip to the dealer, but if theres anything I can do myself...

:eek: Which code has a "C" prefix following it?..."C" would indicate the current fault and would be the code that is causing the light to come on...
This is were a Tech2 is handy because the stored "failure records" will indicate which codes appeared at what mileage,which ones are current and which ones are history,and if any of the following occured at the same time or at different times...You may want to clear them and start over to see which code sets the light,BUT doing so will also clear the "failure records",and the failure records are needed to observe by the dealer to properly diagnose...

ok, sorry took so long,
they all have C after them :( i cleared the codes and it made the light go off :)
if the car is shut down and restarted right away then the light stays off but the codes are listed again as Current :confused: but if it stays shut down for about half a minute then the light comes back on, the codes are listed again :mad and my palm smacks my forhead :crazy:
I swapped MAF sensors with my friend's '99 :smash: out of curiosity, his car ran perfect without tripping a single code :confused: mine tripped the exact same codes again! :mad :cuss :cry
any ideas? ..dealer? new part? napalm? soft gloves?

You could always do a PCM relearn by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. :yesnod: You should list which codes your getting the guys will look them up for you if need be.

..disconnected the battery for 30min, didnt work. :cry
did the fuse pull relearn, didnt work :mad
gave it the finger, didnt work.. :cuss
looks like im on my way to the dealer monday.. :U
