Default Pcv aid

Hi, I am wandering if what I am seeing is my pcv valve failing or if I just need to alter it in such a fashion that it stops creating so much back pressure. I recently took my Callaway honker off-and other connected components- to clean the K&N filter. While in the process, I noticed an accumulation of blackish oil residue on the edges of the throttle body-blade. The car is not originally a z06, but it has the ls6 intake manifold; does that affect how I should go about fixing the pcv ( will the lines I need to fix still be in the same place as the ls1 intake manifold). I read that you can create a catch-can so the pcv won't leak back into the manifold and cause valve damage. The one thing that was noted, "I need to know if I have z06 or not;" well, I dont, but I don't know if having the z06 intake manifold affects the procedure. With that said, any helpful hints, pictures, or tutorials would be great.

Thanks.

A catch can should solve your problem.

Almost all LS engines have or exibit a crankcase oil control issue to some extent or another.

My 02 ZO6 had oil in the intake manifold every time I looked. The answer was adding a Catch Can. It doesn't matter if you have a LS1 or ZO6, the catch can does the same job and hooks up in the same areas.

The manifold vacuum port is the same on a ZO6 or LS1. The port where the engine is vented from changes significantly. The LS1 takes a suction on the drivers side of the engine at the rear of the valve cover in a fitting that goes into the same place that the oil fill spout would fit.

The LS6 takes a suction on a fitting on the top forward area of the Valve Valley cover plate. Here are a couple schematics for the PCV systems on LS1 & LS6

This is very informative, thank you. I don't suppose anyone knows the parts needed for this procedure off the top of their heads? If not, no biggie.
Again, thanks for the given info.
