Default Spark Plugs?

Thinking of changing the plugs. What do you think is the best spark plug for a stock engine? So many out there.

The updated OEM plug is ACDelco 41-110 (Iridium) and are pre-gapped to .040

Nice looking 2003

I would do the wires too if I did the plugs. U may damage the wires when U remove them to replace the plugs, especially if they are old. Just my 2$

I run NGK plugs in everything. They have not let me down. I also put in the regular copper plugs and change them every 20k.

OEM..... You wont go wrong and there's ZERO Performance gain (other than getting back what came from the factory) from one spark plug over another.

Its like Beer. Every one has their favorite and they always recommend that beer.

Same for Spark Plug Wires. Purchase wires for the FIT, & QUALITY Components/Construction.

I prefer the GM Performance RED Wires. They are only $60 ish dollars and fit properly and securely and will last a very long time.

If you are changing plugs, you most likely will need wires if there the standard LS OEM wires.

with Bill, get the GM Performance RED Wires. I'm sure you'll probably break one or two of the old ones as your pulling them off.

I will refine my comment on the spark plugs.

IF,,,,,,, you have SIGNIFICANT engine mods and make a LOT more power,,,, A COPPER standard plug seems to work better BUT,,,,,, IT WILL NOT LAST LONG and will need to be replaced more often.

Just run the Iridium plug and your engine will be happy.

The rare metal plugs are only used to INCREASE spark plug life and insure emissions can be good for at least 80,000 miles (OEM EMISSIONS WARRANTY). It does nothing to increase performance.

I get my GM Performance Red plug wires from Gene Culley CULTRAG Performance (on line)

I don't fully agree with this statement. While rare earth metal plugs (platinum and iridum) do increase spark plug life significantly over copper and nickel plugs, there are other benefits.

The smaller diameter electrode design of iridium plugs reduces the voltage requirement needed, taking stress off of the ignition system and ultimately requiring less primary current for a breakdown event. Although it's small there are some fuel efficiency benefits associated with that.
The smaller electrode diameter also gives more room for the initial flame kernel to grow, reducing quenching effect creating more efficient combustion.

To answer the OP's question, stick with the OEM plugs which are DENSO iridium branded under AC Delcos name.

Heineken, I like Heineken.
That said, I can't find the wires you're talking about, or the plugs mentioned here.
The Cultrag site pulls up wires for my car (04Z) with no mention of being red, and list at $127, not ~$60
The plugs shown are PN 19256067, not 41-110, no mention of brand, type, etc.
Am I looking in the wrong place?
Would you run the factory plug/wire shields with headers? Heat socks?
Guess I should email them... also need to know if they ship to Canada.
