I have replaced the multi-function switch on the column, and 2 hazzard switches. All works great for about a month and then only 3rd brake light works. You can jack the hazzard switch off and it will work for a while.
Is there any way to bypass all the crap and wire direct for brake lights?
If you disconnect the wires you will lose the hazards at the rear. Try jumping them without disconnecting and see if the brakes and hazards will still both work. I think they will, but the lights on all 4 corners will come on solid if you pressed the brake pedal while the hazards are on. If it doesn't work, then disconnect the wires and jumper them.
Lionelhutz's method of connecting the White and Brown wires will jumper around the Hazard switch. I think you have a connector/wiring issue in the circuit and jumpering may not solve your problem for good unless it is right at the HS.
By the way you can jumper these wires at the connector below the steering wheel which will be easier than pulling the HS.
I jumped the white and brown wires at the back of the flasher switch.
Now I really have problems. All lights work in front, turn, flashers, etc.
In the back, no tail lights, only flasher that works is the middle one, turn on left side, no right side, and no brake lights.
I checked fuses 8 and 15 and they were good. Flasher works or middle wouldn't flash. It works on dash. Right blinker on dash blinks fast. Checked bulb and it's good.
I disconnected battery thinking it may reset, but it still does the same.
Is there a relay or another fuse I am missing that may have blown?
