I've gotten my Hurst quieted down with no **** on it, but the stock **** is now the buzzzzzzz point. I suspect it's the shift pattern insert piece. So...I'm looking at *****--the MGW, Kirban's big aluminum **** and the MOMOs. I know the big solid aluminums don't rattle.
Specifically, I'm looking for buzz/rattle experience with the MOMO Phantom, Combat or F16.
Mine rattled like a beotch, then I tightend it down to the breaking point and the rattling stopped....the whole **** just slid right off after that...  :mad
Mine doesn't make a peep. I did have to loctite the biatch to keep it from shaking itself loose every few weeks but since using the loctite it hasn't become lose even one time! I'm using a ripper.
Does anyone with the MGW get "hand burn" due to heat transfer from the tunnel/shifter? (and I don't mean typical hot car on a summer day heat, I mean heat from the tranny tube area)
Momo Combat or MGW...Momo Combat or MGW? Hmmmmm...
I just orderd the MGW "Gripper" model. It certainly is a high precision piece, especially made for the C5 stick/threads, with a 1/4 inch set screw in the 12 o'clock position to fully clamp and thus jamb the threads onto the shaft. This should eliminate that last little bit of rattle after installing the Hurst.
I was dismayed to find out that MOMO ***** are a "one size fits all" item and decided to go with case-specific design.
Tried two Momo's both rattled, one looked like the silver and black as pictured in this thread. I had the dealer that sells the ***** go with me so I didn't have to shell out 90 bucks or so. He said it was a waste of time but knock myself out. Also added 5 oz of wheel weights and still rattles. It's ratteling in the pivot mechinisam and gets applified by the shaft and ****. Some will do it and some will not, that simple.

I was worried about this myself, but took the chance since Momo made the only **** I seemed to like. No rattles here....... If you have issues with your MGW, give Momo a try.
Tracy - The **** gets WARM but has never been too hot to touch and I have the glass top in a daily driver here in St Louis. I like the fact that the MGW sits even lower then the OEM **** by 3/4 of an inch. I had the momo F16 and the MGW sit's about 2 inches lower. I have over 200 miles on the MGW and it's TIGHT.
Try and find a better **** for $45 **** out there. I couldn't and was ready to go back to the OEM shifter the Hurst rattled so bad. I'm a very happy camper now. And I never would have thought that you could lower the Hurst even more and make it feel better.
