I have an adapter for a 12 Disc CD changer in the trunk that converts it to a standard headphone jack so that I can use my iPod. I just plug in the iPod and hit AUX on the dashboard. Worked great. Until the other day.
I could hear the iPod for about 2 seconds, then it stopped. I unplugged, then re-plugged it in. Same thing. I fiddled with the green adapter in the back and made sure everything was plugged in securely. Then the Corvette display just kept saying "Err" the and iPod wouldn't even play for a second (the iPod is working fine--I mean no sound came out for even a second). Now, a few days later, I push AUX (on the stock unit) with the iPod plugged in and I don't even get "Err." Nothing happens at all.
If it's relevant, a small drain on my battery must exist somewhere. If I don't drive the vet for 3 or 4 weeks, the battery dies--battery is only 2 years old.
Thanks for that! I would like to see a permanent fix to the problem. I did find a solution to get the AUX/iPod working. I found it on this forum--for those interested--unplug the cable to the adapter device, set all dips to ON, then all to OFF, then put DIPS 3 and 8 back on. Plug it back in. It worked like a charm.
