c5 starts intermittently
I have a 2003 c5 corvette coupe with 29,000 miles. It runs great but lately it won't start. I disconnect the negative battery cable, wait about 20 sec reconnect and it starts. Might start again 10 times and then nothing not even a click. I had it serviced and it happened at the Chevy dealer. They checked the battery and cables said it was fine battery is 3 years old. A week later same thing happened?

Thanks for the response. The security light was on and I cleaned the key pellet and light is now off, but still starting intermittently. I am surprised the dealer did not check the other symptoms you mentioned.

I have a staring issue with my car. I cant track it down but after reading I learned that there is something in the vats system and if I wait 3 minutes then start the car it, it starts with no problem. I am not saying you have the same problem as me but next time, don't do anything other than turn it off and wait 3 minutes and then try to start. See what happens.

If the key resistance is not read to be correct then the BCM will not let you try again to crank the car for 3 minutes.
Could also be the ignition electrical switch.
