Replacing the AC belt was really easy. I don't understand all the angst I've read about how hard it is. In my view, the key is in making sure the belt is seated into the grooves on both pulleys.
Honestly, it took me about ten minutes to put both belts back on...

damaged main bearings, rod bearings, and cam journals can make some pretty horrible screeching sounds. Let's hope it's nothing internal. Did you check for any particulate matter in the oil?

Exactly, that why I'm taking it to a different shop on Monday. I want a real look, and that includes oil check.
I think a & A is more into making good motors crazy good and tuned, not so much in looking for a problem.
