Removed both belts and it still makes a screeching noise. Way worse in the 2k-3k range. Seems to be better when warmed up.
Stumped and afraid something serious is wrong, but car runs fine. Noise sounds like horrid belt screech.
How would that be possible when the pump is belt driven??
Suggest that you look carefully at the harmonic balancer on the end of the crank. Not uncommon for the balancer to have the rubber between the inner and outer hubs fail and the metal outer hub move forward against the rack or backward against the front cover. Easiest to check with the front up on jack stands so you can get under the car....

No lift available at this moment, I'll have to figure out how to get under the car in the next few days...
The belts are perfectly straight and from the top, it looks correct, but I'll definitely re-visit that.
I wish I knew of a straight shooter mech in SoCal, north of Los Angeles...

A&A is a Corvetteforum vendor and has a very long and excellent reputation. They are also one of the big "go to" vendors for superchargers; sales, installations, etc.

I think the only downside with going to A&A, is that it'll likely cost you about $7,000 - $8,000 because you'll end up buying a supercharger.

No kidding!
In all fairness though, if I were looking for a first-rate shop to get one and have it installed and tuned, it would be VERY high on my list. They really know their chit.
Another thing it could be is something in the clutch/throw out bearing.
Also, just maybe, the trans is very low on fluid. I've heard manual transmissions scream when really low on fluid.
