Default Passenger Window Problem

2002 Corvette Convertible.

So, like most others that have had this problem. My passenger side window has starting having problems operating. I can hear it click, and nothing happens. So, what I did was the typical hit the regulator, that worked for a while, now I'm not getting anything.

So, I pulled the door panel off, and removed tapped the black box that is clicking....is this the regulator that people speak of??? I always thought the regulator was the armature that moved the window up and down? Anyways...I got nothing. I checked for voltage at the motor, and I'm getting 12v when I push the up and down button. I can also feel that the motor is hot...so maybe something is causing a jam. So, I pulled the glass, and now the whole motor and armature. I hooked just the motor up to the connector, and it works both up and down. Is there somewhere in the cables that could be causing a jam? Thank guys.

The black box is the door control module. The regulator is the mechanical mechanism that raises and lowers the window.

Seems like a regulator issue. If you can't fix it they are inexpensive to replace.

Here are some links that might help. If you want anything from the FSM let us know.

Thanks for the tips guys. I messed around with it a bit more, and got the whole assembly working. But, the motor seems kind of weak. It's hesitate a bit on the way up in the same spot each time. Maybe I'll have to do some adjustment, but maybe I'm having a motor or module issue.

dadroo...what do you mean the FSM? Thanks.

FSM is short for Factory Service Manual

I don't think you have a module issue. It the window motor. Replace the unit and your problems are solved.

The module in NOT the problem. Trust me on this one. If it binds at one spot I can also say that would not be a motor issue at the "real cause" even if the motor is weak.
