I'm new to the forum and my first Corvette. My in dash display said service traction control service abs, I got a diagnosis that the problem was my EBCM. I bought a rebuilt on line, saw it was six small screws and two electrical connectors and said I can do this. I unplugged the connectors, removed the six screws it won't budge. I tried tapping it with a small rubber hammer nothing moved. I don't want to cause any problems by forcing any thing or do I need a bigger hammer? thanks for any help you can give me. George (gbkent)
As you can see I've got a thread on EBCM also - I started at the top with a thin bladed flat screwdriver and gently pried using a twisting motion. It was not too hard to break it away from the other module. I've read elsewhere to be careful with this step and not damage the seal.
I too am in the middle of removing my BS module.... I am attempting to remove the module ONLY not the entire unit.... I removed (4) hex head screws.... You said (6)...?? I have looked everywhere for the other two? Cannot locate them... Mine is an 01.... I am going to attempt to gently pry the unit on starting w a butter knife.... wish me luck...
Use a small flathead screwdriver or a small taping knife. Run it along the top edge of the ebcm and once u break the seal it comes off easily. Just be careful not to ruin the seal for when u reinstall.
