Wheel Cleaner
My '99 FRC had reproduction chrome wheels when I purchased it over 5 years ago. Last year I purchased new tires and decided to keep those rims. I have upgraded the suspension and brakes - great stopping power - noisy and filthy pads. I have tried the different wheel cleaners with little success. I would appreciate any tips on cleaning my wheels - time spent is not an issue. I drive it regularly.

I have chrome wheels on my C5 and just use a good car wash soap and water to clean them. I do keep a good coat of wax on them to help protect the finish.

It depends on the condition of the chrome? If it's just washing and cleaning them and chrome is still in good shape.. An old secret that hotrodders use is product called "Glass wax" It's hard to find now days, but some hardware stores carry it. It comes in a pink can and is a pink liquid paste. Simply put it on a sponge and wipe the chrome. It will haze and dry similar to a car wax and easily wipes off. Don't know what this stuff is but it's fantastic on chrome like bumpers wheels, etc. and really pulls the shine on chrome. It's designed for glass and it works really good on windshields as well. Other chrome cleaners that are good is Turtle Wax and Mother's.
