I used a razor knife and cut the paint away. I would recommend doing it as soon as you can safely handle them, while paint is soft. I used VHT high heat caliper paint. Good luck

Are those calipers rebuilt with new pistons, etc. and can you do them in any color (specifically electron blue)?
Those look really good, Mak.
For the OP - when I painted mine, I let it dry then just used an Exacto knife to remove the paint from the lettering. The calipers have been painted for nearly six years and still look like new.

Yes we rebuild the calipers with new seals and boots. We don't replace the pistons but make sure their in great shape... We can do them any color but trying to get a perfect match to metallic colors is hard.
Painting calipers can work well BUT it's ALL in the prep... need to make sure the surface is nice and clean so the paint will stick. Most paint if used on a daily driver will eventually deteriorate.

Do you paint the letters on or remove the powder coat where the letters are?
Do you have a price for just the powder coat of calipers and brackets and no rebuild?
I know a big part of the cost is preping the calipers and brackets. They are a real pain to clean as I have already done this. My calipers and brackets are really clean and would only need final prep before power coating. It is a extra set I bought on eBay so that I will have no down time. I will bubble wrap and you can use these rather than swap them out.

I will NOT do the powder coating without rebuilding them with new seals and boots.. UNLESS you sign a waiver that says you accept them as is.. meaning if the old seals leak and your brakes fail there is NO warranty. The savings is NOT huge and not worth it...
The thing you have to understand about rubber and plastic is it detoriates over time and age... so you they can look great but with age and exposed to brake fluid they might have issues
If you have a bad/wasted caliper and need to replace one or two then getting a powdercoated set is a good idea. BUT id personally never pay $400 shipped for a set of rebuilt stock calipers when I can paint my oem ones for less than $10 and a couple hours of easy R&R and painting work.
Everyone has their own opinions and needs for what their looking for. Painted calipers do look ok when freshly done and if you keep them clean. But they don't compare to our powder coated calipers.. if you ever see ours in person they look like glass... we even clean up the rough casting before we powder coat them.

I've owned my 02 coupe for 10 years, I painted my calipers with Sunrise Red when first purchased. Recently re-did them again with the same paint and color, no mechanical work or brake bleeding, and much less cost and aggravation.
